Departure from Cairo in the early morning, driving by car to San el Hagar (Tanis) the delta capital of Ramsses II, via the agricultural road, passing on a small town called Zagazig and the site of Bubastis where the cat was worshiped in ancient times. Visit the ruins of Tanis. Then proceed to Ismailia on the Suez Canal for lunch. Return to Cairo by the desert road. N.B. prior to the visit of Bubastis and Tanis a special permission is to be obtained from the Department of Antiquities in Cairo.
